Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge Project has been honored with the 'ENR Project of The Year' award by the jury of the U.S.-based Engineering News Record (ENR) magazine, one of the most respected global publications in the engineering and construction sector, as a result of the general evaluation conducted in December 2023 among the winners of 31 categories.

Minister Uraloğlu highlighted that the evaluation conducted by the jury considered design and construction challenges, benefits provided to local communities and the industry, and their commitment to quality, innovation, and safety. He emphasized that the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, with its 2023-meter middle span, holding the title of the world's longest middle span suspension bridge, secured the first-place award in the bridge and tunnel category in the 'Global Best Projects' competition by ENR, where the world's best engineering projects were selected in October. Additionally, he reminded that in May 2023, the bridge received the top honors in the Public-Private Partnership and Infrastructure Awards organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) for its environmental, social contributions, and contributions to the circular economy.
