During his visits to Artvin and Rize, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu visited several key infrastructure projects works, including the Arhavi Entry Road, the Industrial Entry of the Hopa-Borçka Road, Yusufeli Center Viaduct, and the Ardeşen Ayder Road Tunca Connection.

"We will finish the bridge construction in Hopa in June"

Emphasizing the challenging geographic nature of the Eastern Black Sea region, Minister Uraloğlu stated that the ongoing bridge construction in Hopa is scheduled for completion in June, noting, "Our duty in this landscape is to serve you."

Uraloğlu also mentioned plans to eliminate Borçka's main coastal connection from the agenda, stating, "We will continue with the current tender for a while and schedule the remainder for tendering at an appropriate time. Essentially, we will have tendered the entire stretch to Borçka."

Regarding the ongoing Güreşen Bridge construction, Uraloğlu shared, "It's truly a technological and beautifully engineered bridge. We faced some challenges during my term as the Director General of Highways. Solving these took time due to issues like the nearby dam, water, and ground conditions, but we resolved them and are continuing construction. We acknowledge we are a bit behind on the Güreşen Bridge, but we aim to accelerate progress from now on."

“Construction Works on Macahel Pass to begin soon"

Referring to the Camili (Macahel) Pass, Uraloğlu announced the approval of the project, which includes approximately 6 kilometers of tunnel construction. He explained, "We are now in the process of including it in the investment program. We had a delegation from Macahel visit us while I was the Director General. We accelerated the project then. Reassessing the conditions, it's challenging to include this 6-kilometer tunnel and an additional 4-5 kilometers of connecting roads in the investment program, especially after the earthquake and pandemic we experienced. Our friends are working on an alternative with a tunnel there. By taking your opinions and consulting with Artvin's administrators to make it more feasible, we hope it won't take long to finalize the project. If not, we already have an existing project. We'll keep a close watch and expect to start construction soon."

"Yusufeli Center Viaduct to open next month"

Concluding his visit in the Yusufeli district, Minister Uraloğlu inspected the Yusufeli Center Viaduct, stating, "At 685 meters long and with a pillar height of 147 meters, this push-launch bridge is one of the significant bridges of its kind in Turkey. We expect to complete and open it to service next month, benefiting the people of Yusufeli."
