Nissibi Bridge
The Nissibi Bridge is located in the section of the Adıyaman-Kâhta-Siverek-Diyarbakır State Highway that connects Adıyaman to Diyarbakır, where it was interrupted by the waters of the Atatürk Dam Lake.
This bridge, with a central span of 400 meters and side spans of 105 meters each, for a total length of 610 meters, was opened to service on May 21, 2015.
The Nissibi Bridge, constructed as a cable-stayed bridge with a series of "firsts" and innovative applications in Turkey's construction sector, introduced new technical features.
With the construction of this bridge, it provided uninterrupted connectivity between the Eastern Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia regions via Adıyaman and Diyarbakır provinces, reducing travel time by approximately one and a half hours compared to ferry transportation. It also shortened the distance between Diyarbakır in the west and Adıyaman in the east by 40 kilometers.
