Tohma Bridge
The Tohma Bridge, also known as Şehit Gaffari Güneş Bridge, is a bridge that facilitates both road and railway transportation. It is located adjacent to the existing bridge over the Tohma River, which divides the Malatya Plain and connects Malatya to Sivas.
This bridge, with a length of 517.5 meters, was opened for service on February 6, 2021.
In its construction, steel beams with a total weight of 2700 tons were used, each measuring 3 meters in height and 16 meters in width. The bridge was installed along its axis using the "Incremental Launch Method (ILM)," a technique with numerous global applications.
A total of 162 kilometers of welding was performed on the bridge. This project has achieved the integration of divided road continuity along the north-south axis between Malatya-Hekimhan and Sivas.
