Gümüşhane City Bypass
The Gümüşhane City Bypass, which provides transportation on the highway between Trabzon and Erzurum, was reorganized with a 2x2 lane divided road project. It was opened to service on August 10, 2018.
The route includes 9 tunnels with a total of 14 tubes, 13 bridges, 4 viaducts, and 5 different-level intersections, with a total length of 11.25 km. The Gümüşhane Bypass has relocated the transit traffic from the existing road, which previously provided 2x1 single-lane service within the city center, to the outskirts of the city.
The separation of transit traffic from inner-city traffic has alleviated traffic congestion in the city center, providing a safer and more comfortable travel experience. It has also facilitated the smoother and faster conduct of commercial and social activities.
