Meriç Bridge
The Meriç Bridge, which provides a high-standard connection between the Pazarkule Border Crossing, located 5 km from Edirne, and the Edirne Ring Road, was opened to traffic on March 30, 2017.
The 2x1,943 m long Meriç Bridge has made transportation between Edirne, Karaağaç, and Pazarkule uninterrupted, safe, and comfortable, overcoming the interruptions caused by recent floods. It has also contributed to relieving traffic within the city of Edirne.
With the completion of the project, heavy-duty vehicle traffic that was not allowed due to the preservation of the historical bridges between Karaağaç and Edirne has been facilitated.
