Cudi Mountain Tunnels and Viaduct
The Cudi Mountain Tunnels and Viaduct project includes two twin-tube tunnels: the 733-meter-long Martyr Security Village Guard Dündar Page Tunnel and the 805-meter-long Martyr Captain Mustafa Erdal Tunnel, as well as one viaduct spanning 360 meters.
This project, which was inaugurated on October 18, 2020, along the Cizre-Şırnak Road, has elevated the transportation standards along the north-south axis, connecting Siirt, Van, and Hakkâri with the Black Sea Region and the border crossings of Iraq and Syria.
Converting the 35.7-kilometer road into a divided highway has provided a more comfortable travel experience, and the opening of the Cudi Mountain Tunnels has shortened the route by 8 kilometers.
